Nema Beauty was birthed from a season in my life when my life was taking a turn. At this same time there was a fire for creating a makeup brand that came upon me so strongly. I put in my two weeks notice and I begin to think of this makeup brand and how it was going to come into fruition. I feel in love with makeup through eyeshadows so that was the first product I wanted to curate. Being as though I did not have a lot of funds and I was leaving my job, I was trying to figure out a master plan of how I was going to achieve this goal. I begin to look up ingredients for formulas of eyeshadow and doing research on ways to create them from home. All the while I was asking for the Lord to put his stamp on my brand and give me a name for my cosmetic line.  I had heard of a large brand that we all know and love that actually received its name through prayer. I also knew that the name that you give anything is the first prophetic word over it. Whether it be a child or a brand, whatever is birthed should have a name that depicts identity. Names are like ID cards before the ID card. It should be a declaration. It should be a seed that will yield good fruit. I was sitting at the computer one day continuing my research on producing eyeshadows from home when I began talking to the Lord about the name of the brand. It was almost like I was sitting at the table with a board member trying to come up with the name. It was collaborative effort between God and I. I was talking to him when I saw what seemed to be in my imagination (which I now know was a vision) the letter N. I told God, “Ok N... something cosmetics that seems cute.”  A little time had passed and I was still researching when I saw and heard the pronunciation of Nema (pronounced Nee-ma). I was like, “ Hmmmm Nemacosmetics.com that sounds cool but what about something cute backwards like Naveah.” I then asked myself “What is Nema spelled backwards?” AMEN!!. I got goosebumps because this was the clearest answer I had ever received from the Lord before. Later on I asked God why amen? He took me to 2 Corinthians 1:20 “For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.”  I accepted what he told me and kept it within me but due to fear I did not move right away and ended up resuming work. However, God showed himself as the God of Elyashib in my life. The God of restoration. Four years later, God has provided me with resources, positioning, vision and revelation to be able to fulfill his purpose for this brand and give to everyone the beauty brand we now know as Nema Beauty.
